Corn Belt Clash Series Closes Out 2014 Season as Chad Simpson Captures Fifth Series Title

Even though Mother Nature tried to put a damper on the weekend, the Corn Belt Clash Series was able to close out its 2014 season with two first-time stops for the series along with the crowning of its 2014 Champion and Rookie of the Year. Veteran Scott Bull captured the checkers for his first ever CBC Series win at the the Fairbury American Legion Speedway stop while former UMP National Champion Brandon Sheppard captured the victory at the Series' final 2014 event at the Vermillion County Speedway in Danville, Illinois, to close out the Corn Belt Clash's 2014 season.

Mt. Vernon, Iowa's Chad Simpson used consistency along with two wins to power to his fifth consecutive Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series title. He was followed in the point chase by Jason Uttler, Dave Eckrich, Chris Simpson and Spencer Diercks. Ohio's Matt Furman, Mike Fryer, Terry Phillips, Brian Birkhofer and Travis Dickies rounded out the top 10.

Spencer Diercks of Davenport, Iowa put together an impressive rookie campaign to capture the Corn Belt Clash Series Rookie of the Year presented by Out-Pace Racing Products and VP Racing Fuels Heartland title. He battled Minnesota's Jordan Yaggy and Bob Cullen of Wisconsin for the year long crown.

Just because the racing season has come to an end, that doesn't mean things have slowed down for the Corn Belt Clash Series. Tradeshow season is right around the corner and CBC officials will be in attendance at the Heartland Show in November before heading to the PRI Show in Indianapolis in December. The series will be making several announcements in the upcoming months including its 2015 schedule as well as other announcements. The series would like to thank all of its drivers, teams, fans, tracks and marketing partners for a successful 2014 season.
