Feger Collects First Series Win at Davenport

Jason Feger rolled into the big half-mile at Davenport Speedway having never raced the track, when he left, he had not only conquered the track, but also picked-up $3,000 for his efforts having captured the Karsyn’s Krusaders 40 for the Corn Belt Clash Series Late Models.

Feger started the event inside of row two, behind QuickCar Racing Products Quick Six winner Andy Eckrich. The youngest of the three Eckrich brothers set the early pace for the event with Matt Furman and Feger in tow.

The first caution fell with 5 laps complete for a slowing #3x of Skip Frye. On the restart, Feger gave chase and moved into the second position and he started to apply pressure to Eckrich’s #56 machine. Working all over the track, Feger powered by Eckrich on the bottom side to take the point. A solid battle continued throughout the field as positions swapped back-and-forth throughout the field.

Feger was able to pull away at the end, capturing his frist career Corn Belt Clash Series victory over the #56 of Andy Eckrich. The rest of the top-five was comprised of Denny Eckrich, Ray Guss Jr and Justin Kay. The Corn Belt Clash Series is off for the next month as it will return to action the end of June with stops at I-80 Speedway and Adams County Speedway at the end of June.
