Corn Belt Clash Series Launching Rookie of the Year Program

For the first time in the Series’ five year history, officials at the Iowa based Corn Belt Clash Late Model Series are proud to announce that for the 2013 season they will have a Rookie of the Year program that will award not only the Rookie of the Race but also collect points throughout the year and at the end of the season, one driver will be awarded the DirtonDirt.com Rookie of the Year for the Corn Belt Clash Series presented by Out-Pace Racing Products and VP Racing Fuels Heartland.

“We are extremely excited to be able to partner with DirtonDirt for the upcoming season. Michael, Todd and their staff have been very supportive of the series over the years and we were excited to work together on this new program,” stated CBC President Cam Granger. In addition to DirtonDirt, the series also welcomes VP Racing Fuels Heartland onboard for the upcoming season, who is also a presenting sponsor of the RoY Award with long-time series sponsor Out-Pace Racing Products. “We’ve really started to branch out with sponsorships this year of regional series across the country, and we’ve known and worked with Cam for several years now, so we wanted to step up and sponsor the rookie program,” said DirtonDirt.com’s Michael Rigsby. “It will be good exposure for us, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the rookie competition shakes down!” The Corn Belt Clash Rookie of the Year will be awarded $1,000, a barrel of VP Racing Fuel along with other contingency sponsors and awards at the year end banquet. “We’re glad to be part of the Corn Belt Clash's Rookie of the Year program,” said Todd Turner, DirtonDirt.com’s managing editor. “We love to see new blood in the sport, especially up-and-coming drivers, so it’s a great way to boost the series.”

In addition to the new Rookie of the Year Program, the series is also proud to announce several new sponsors for the upcoming season. Wehrs Machine, JRi Shocks, Mason Racin’ and Eastern Iowa Spray Foam and Water Proofing have also come onboard with the series for the upcoming season. In addition, the Corn Belt Clash is proud to announce that QuickCar Racing Products has increased its sponsorship by being named title sponsor of the QuickCar Racing Products Quick Six presented by Grove Automotive and Pro Power. For the upcoming season, the Quick Six will pay money to win, instead of points as it had in the previous year. The winner of the QuickCar Racing Products Quick Six at CBC events will be awarded $100 plus a $50 QuickCar Racing Products Gift Certificate along with a commemorative plaque. Second will receive $50 and third $25. In addition, the Quick Six will see a change in procedure from previous years as the leader in passing points will draw an invert pill, 1-6 to set the starting line-up for the Quick Six, and how it finishes will set the first three rows for the nights A-Main. “We wanted to change things up for the new season and award our drivers more. We have to thank Danny at QuickCar for increasing his program with the series as well which helps make it possible,” stated Granger. “We are very fortunate to have all of our sponsors and supporters and are looking towards a great season.”

In addition to the already announced winner’s portion for the Quick Six, at the April 12th CBC event at Davenport Speedway, the winner will also receive a new MD3 Nose courtesty of Karsyn’s Krusaders as part of the Karsyn’s Krusaders 40 that night.

The Series kicks off its 2013 season this weekend at I-80 Speedway for two co-sanctioned shows with the MLRA Series with a $2,000-to-win show Friday and a $3,000-to-win show on Saturday night. Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa will see the series invade the historic half-mile for the Karsyn’s Krusaders 40 on April 12 as the CBC and its partner, Karsyn’s Krusaders, raise money for Cancer and spread awareness at the event along with a $3,000-to-win CBC feature.
